So I’ve recently discovered a new pastime. It’s definitely not an unfamiliar concept to those into clothes. One day after work a couple weeks ago, I decided to venture into a local Goodwill store to go “thrifting”. After getting lost for a couple hours, I emerged feeling invigorated and victorious! That could be because I was able to acquire an Eddie Bauer cable-knit sweater, a short-sleeve seersucker shirt by Neiman Marcus, a navy sportcoat with gold buttons, an Yves Saint Laurent tie, a Brooks Brothers tie and a military jacket (that I eventually gave away) all for under $25. Then only two weeks later, I went to the same place for another “thrifting” excursion and successfully came out with a camo jacket (Marines) and some “commando sole brogues” as one of my friends aptly named them. Then I looked around at my recent acquisitions and realized I was already making “thrifty” purchases. I got a couple pair of colored corduroys for under $10 apiece from Old Navy, Bass Catskill boots from Belk for $40 (50% off). For someone who trying to establish their own personal style and remain cost-effective, it’s great to come across these sort of finds at these prices it’s safe I’m beginning to fall in love with this thing called thrifting.…
