Late Monday afternoon, while killing time before catching up with my business partner, I ventured into LibertyTown Arts Workshop downtown. If you are not already familiar, LibertyTown is the creation of local potter and artist, Dan Finnegan, and is essentially an art gallery, workspace for artists and all-inclusive arts center located at 916 Liberty Street in Downtown Fredericksburg. They feature over 40 local artists, carry monthly exhibitions and are quite popular during First Fridays. My initial purpose was to try and catch up with Dan, who was supposed to be returning from overseas trip recently but then I ended up getting lost in LibertyTown taking in all the amazing artwork. After snapping back to reality, I finally met up with Reef to discuss some of our upcoming Karmalifee manuevers, kick back, relax and enjoy the summer weather.

A Thrifting Project

A little over week ago, I spent the day with one of my good friends, Shareese McDaniel. This lady is the reason why I recently gained a heavy interest in thrifting. She has a creative, unique style that begs you to inquire where she got her outfit from and her answer will consistently be “I […]

Some visuals from our younger brother Farma Wesley, kind of an old video but this video’s too cool not to post.

Tom Tom's Acquisitions: Uniqlo Cotton Linen Shorts (Flower)

Earlier this week, while traveling around New York with my family, I literally stumbled into the freshly-opened Uniqlo store in RidgeHill Shopping Center located in Westchester. As it were, it just so happened that its grand opening was only a few days prior to my impromptu visit. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. Normally, I […]

It starts with a passion for meeting the needs of a community you know and care about. That has to be your true motivation, it can’t just be about money. –Matt Baldwin, Baldwin Denim

If you’re thinking about starting your own brand, be ready to die for it. Because THAT is how hard you’ll be working in order to make it successful. This is no walk in the park. If you’re questioning your passion, your commitment or your ability to ‘make it work,’ then do something else. You’ll be […]

Dining with the Arts by the Harbor

After work on Saturday, I got on the road with one of my lady friends and headed to the National Harbor. While Ty had his sights set on the main Cherry Blossom festivities, I took in the sights at its art festival at the Art Whino gallery. The event came complete with a DJ, wine and […]

DAIKO! DC Annual Cherry Blossom Parade

Every Spring, Washington DC holds a Festival commemorating Mayor Yukio Ozaki’s gift of the Cherry Blossom trees to the US back in 1912. Every year the Japanese-American citizens bring their culture to us and share their history further strengthening the bond between the US and Japan as Ozaki did so many years ago. My Japanese-American […]

Interview with Death By Cupcakee

Some people get to be in the best locations. Some people get to meet the best people. Lorin, one of our great interviewers here at Karmalifee, gets both. Not only does he live in the beautiful city of Miami, but he also got to interview one of the city’s newest bombshells, Ms. Alex Rivero better […]

Lately I Been Thrifting My Life Away...

So I’ve recently discovered a new pastime. It’s definitely not an unfamiliar concept to those into clothes. One day after work a couple weeks ago, I decided to venture into a local Goodwill store to go “thrifting”. After getting lost for a couple hours, I emerged feeling invigorated and victorious! That could be because I […]

Go DJ! That’s My DJ

This Karmalifeestyle has really gotten me going places and meeting people I never thought I’d get to meet. This week was no different, had a conversation with an ill DJ doing big things in the music business locally. Going by the name DJ Chub. We rapped over the phone for a bit about music, his […]
