Peep My Feet, Bro

A few weeks ago, Reef embarked on a 440-mile adventure that lasted an entire weekend. It began on a Saturday afternoon as he made his way to an event called “Peep My Feet” in Richmond, VA. It was the inaugural opening for the mini convention of sorts, a place where you could buy, trade and even sell footwear along with vending from local, independent or established clothing and accessory brands. He met old friends and made new ones, which is always good. The real reason we were attendance was to support our brother company, BluEmpire Entertainment, the Marketing and Management entity who actually sponsored the event. In all, Reef connected with many different people and brands that hopefully, you will see some collaborations with in the coming months through the brand or with our events. Stay tuned!

Baked Goods, Cuzzo…

After that, it was off to DC to check out a private show in Adams Morgan called Baked Goods. Our good friend, whitneyABSTRAKT was the DJ and sent us the invite and with a few of our peers were on the bill, it was definitely an event worth attending. The setlist included Nicos Gun, JFK , M1platoon, Kali Uchis and Meche Korrect. It was in an apartment that was converted into an art studio so as you could imagine it was a lovely environment to meet and network with people. In my opinion, these type of events are the best to attend. Everyone killed their set and the event as a whole was an pleasurable experience.

Enter the Broccoli City!

The conclusion to the weekend was the Broccoli City Earth Day Festival at the Half-Street Fairgrounds right outside the Nationals ballpark in Southeast DC. This festival proved to be a unique experience for the team, it started off with linking up with a good friend of ours and musician, Young Scolla. He had an interview with Philly’s hip-hop blog HipHopSince1987 for their new project 30 for Thirty. After finishing up with that we ran into Phil Ade who was also on the bill for the festival. We experienced a bit of technical difficulties trying to get into the festival but it eventually all worked out and we and bee-lined to the food trucks which happened to be one of the best things the festival had to offer beside the music. The Broccoli City Festival was all about Earth Day and the awareness of taking care of where we live. The highlight of the day was being able to get up to the stage and take some pretty nice pictures which you will see below.

SUPA Shoes, Dude.

Recently, one of our good friends, SUPA, picked up customizing sneakers and allowed us in to shoot the visuals of his work. I won’t say much more and let the pictures do the talking.

Walk With A Thousand Kings

This past weekend, Karmalifee made its way to Virginia Beach for the Thousand Kings Walk. This idea came together through the hard work of Rob Hill Sr., an author and philanthropist from the Chesapeake area. The intention of the event is best explained in this statement: To inspire, impact, and influence young men ages 12–17 […]

What Did You Wear Today, Thomas?

Interesting thoughts by the man known as 40 oz…

Whether you’re running a business alone or with partners, it’s important to be open and honest with everything you do. If you’re going to be a little late in paying your manufacturer, let them know. If you need an advance on your paycheck because you’ve got some personal stuff to handle, say something to your […]

Our next installment of the Brand Spotlight series brings to light Curran Swint of Kings Rule Together. Although he is a Philadelphia native, Curran is actually one of the first people I met when I began networking for Karmalifee in DC. A Bit of a Chat with Erothyme

Bobby West aka Erothyme and I sat down at a little café in downtown Fredericksburg, VA. Tom Tom's Acquisitions: Uniqlo Cotton Linen Shorts (Flower)

Earlier this week, while traveling around New York with my family, I literally stumbled into the freshly-opened Uniqlo store in RidgeHill Shopping Center located in Westchester. As it were, it just so happened that its grand opening was only a few days prior to my impromptu visit. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. Normally, I […]

It starts with a passion for meeting the needs of a community you know and care about. That has to be your true motivation, it can’t just be about money. –Matt Baldwin, Baldwin Denim

There is no job that’s easy or without drama. So if you’re getting into something that is gonna take all your time, energy, commitment and money, you might as well at least be doing something you love. ‘Cause when the shit hits the fan and times get rough and rugged (and they will), it would […]
