Brewing locally in Fredericksburg, there’s seems to be a melting pot of talent waiting to be tapped into. One of the consistent leaders of this group would be local rapper Cane. A recent graduate of VMI, burst onto the scene about 2–3 years ago and has been a force ever since. There aren’t too conversations about local lyricists that go on without his name being mentioned. He threw a listening party for his upcoming album at Sports Zone a couple weeks ago and Karmalifee was in attendance. One quick listen to the sounds and words coming through the speakers made it known to the crowd that this project was no amateur recording. His delivery, diction and stage presence were impeccable. He changed tempo with the beat, and sometimes off beat to give those who listening for the first time a full picture of his lyrical prowess. Even the production on the album deserves mention, his producer, Louburna displayed a repertoire of diverse, infectious, fine-tuned and well-made beats that made it’s own impression on those who paid attention. The event in all-in-all was a success, the room was filled with people. Every one enjoyed themselves and networking connections were made left and right. Folks even came from Woodbridge and Richmond to partake in the festivities. There was definitely an immense collection of talent in the room, from photographers to musicians and other clothing lines. Karmalifee is definitely proud to call those involved with the event and others present in the room spectacting, members of our peer circle.
